NPR / Issues on the Environment Interview: gas ban on new construction

I recently had the opportunity to participate in an interview with NPR regarding the increasing ban on gas stoves and natural gas connections in new building construction. During the interview, we discussed the variables that come into the change including ensuring our electric grid can support the additional demand and communicating the benefits of many systems fueled by electric and renewable resources. Being in a position of both designing new construction with Synecdoche and reviewing new projects as a planning commissioner for the City of Ann Arbor, I have experience with the challenges and opportunities this presents to our urgent housing and sustainability goals.
