NIGHTCAP
Three words: YOU LOOK GOOD.
Nightcap, a modern cocktail bar set in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, lures people in with it’s illuminated wordless blue sign. Long and narrow, the space was designed to facilitate interaction and provide for multiple seating types.
Upon entrance, a vestibule set with a sleek custom-built host stand and rich blue velvet curtains prepare for a grand entrance into the bar area beyond. The host stand is a part of a series of custom furniture designed and fabricated by Synecdoche.
The Tasting Table sits at the front of the space, designed with a cutout for the bartender to perform table side service. Sweeping curved lounge booths flank the wall to accommodate groups large and small. The main bar, which extends the length of the space, moves in and out creating a dynamic seating arrangement.
The main feature of the space is the light and shadow texture on the wall. Synecdoche produced this effect with the careful placement of track lighting and perforated metal ceiling panels.
