Interior design and bespoke fabrication rethinking the retail and piercing experience.

Inspired and challenged by Gamma Piercing to incorporate expansive soundscapes and transitions into new territory through the influence of Tycho’s album “Awake”, we created a space where immersive color, elemental shapes, and playful lighting work together creating a mood unique to each experience.

Clean techniques, approachable people, and true individuality are the core of Gamma’s business and while music is the inspiration, providing a safe experience is priority. Small details and bold elements tie together these goals in the 800 square foot space to create consistent comforts that builds and keeps clients’ trust.

Just as each piercing tells an individual story, the intentional details and strong geometries provide flexibility over time.

A minimal black and white palette establishes the neutral backdrop for warm pink hues and iridescence to individually shine. The ink-black stained, geometric, and CNC-textured topography of oak illuminates jewelry and invites the customer to explore.

A pair of bespoke display and reception pieces – designed and crafted Synecdoche – ground the retail area, allowing guests to move freely to peruse jewelry, bucking the more formal hierarchy and sales bias of the traditional jewelry counter.

Outside each door and across from the piercing beds are geometric, iridescent mirrors allowing guests to admire their newly ornamented features.

The whole vibe seems to be working and well captured by photographer John D’Angelo. Gamma reported an increase in sales just months after opening the new space based on the new approach to retail experience and elevated design.
